The important strength of the Ostrów Wielkopolski District and Ostrów Wielkopolski Town is the well - qualified and cheap workforce. Since 2001 wages have been increasing very slowly due to high unemployment. The actual unemployment rate is 20% ( population 160 000 ) and in some municipalities even more.

The average monthly wages among manufacturers of the automotive goods in Ostrów Wielkopolski District are as follow :
- workforce ( machinery operator ) : 250 Euro - 270 Euro netto / 380 Euro - 410 Euro gross
- engineer with language knowledge (in speaking and writing) : 320 Euro - 380 Euro netto / 485 Euro - 575 Euro gross
- department manager with experience :420- 550 Euro netto / 636 - 833 Euro gross

The training possibilities :
The District Employment Agency located in Ostrów Wielkopolski organizes a training course for unemployment people at an entrepreneurs request. The training course will be organized provided that the entrepreneur signs an agreement with The Employment agency. The entrepreneur in the agreement has to declare employing ( that he is going to employ ) all the training participants, however the training could begin when the investment will be finished or shortly before finishing it. The Employment Agency is open also for language training for unemployment with a little language skills in accordance with requirements presented above. The whole training costs in presented cases will be covered by the District Employment Agency.

In companies with up to 9 employees , the accident insurance contribution amounts to 1.93% of the salary. In case of larger companies , employing 10 workers and more , the contribution varies from 0.97% to 3.86% of the salary depending on the occupational hazard in a given trade.
