Tourism
The extensive proglacial river valleys, the ancient oaks, the natural beauty preserved for us in the nature reserves, the charm of the old residences, the picturesque tourist trails, the chance to enjoy live performances of the music of Frederick Chopin, all these will surely delight and enchant the tourist.
The localities of Przygodzice, Sośnie and Ostrów Wielkopolski are ideal for walking and cycling. Within the borders of districts 4 tourist trails are marked out:
the red trail ( Ostrów Wielkopolski – Antonin – Kotłów ), length 35 km
the green trail ( Odolanów – Ołobok ), length 42 km
the trail of the historic Antonin oaks, length 22 km
the black trail ( Kotłów – Strzyżew ), length 35 km
The most popular is the cycle track from Ostrów Wielkopolski to Antonin, running through the forest and by the Przygodzice ponds, one of the most noted sites in Poland for the protection of birds, where more than 250 species of birds can be seen, of which about 150 species have chosen to nest by these waters. The country park “Dolina Baryczy” that extends through the localities of Sośnie, Odolanów and Przygodzice is of equal importance for the conservation of the natural environment. Within its borders there is a nature reserve at Antonin called “Wydymacz”, beautifully situated in the middle of the forest, with rich flora and fauna. A special feature well worth seeing is the Antonin Oaks, second largest in Europe.
We invite everyone to visit the most beautiful spots in the Ostrów district, with the assurance of a warm and friendly welcome and traditional Wielkopolska reliability.
